Paul Lawrence Vann is a veteran having served over 20 years in the USAF.</p><p>Veterans Day was originally named Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, which was the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. </p><p>Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans living or dead but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.</p><ol><li>18.8 million living veterans served during at least one war as of 2018.</li><li>None percent of veterans are women.</li><li>Seven million veterans served during the Vietnam War.</li><li>Three million veterans have served in support of the War on Terrorism.</li><li>Of the 16 million Americans who served during World War 11, about 325,000 were still alive as of 2020.</li><li>Two million veterans served during the Korean War.</li><li>The top three states with the highest percentage of Veterans were Virginia, Wyoming, and Alaska.</li></ol><p>Salute a veteran and thank them for their service.
