In some countries new cases per week are more than eight times higher than a year ago.</p><p><br></p><p>In some good news, new trial data shows Moderna’s vaccine was more than 90% effective at protecting against Covid and more than 95% effective against severe disease up to six months after the second dose. Pfizer said earlier this month its vaccine was also shown to be highly effective six months after the second dose.</p><p><br></p><p>What will things look like after the pandemic? U.S. intelligence took that into consideration in its annual assessment of worldwide threats.
