This song, short-film, and the wider rerelease of her album Red has taken youth culture by storm, spreading spreading across platforms like TikTok and dominating music charts. But 'All Too Well' tells a potentially controversial story. Rumoured to be based on a 19 year old Taylor's 3 month relationship with 30 year old actor Jake Gyllenhaal, it invokes passion and angry memories from an unequal and complex relationship.
