EPL in a class of its own – Ten Hag takes swipe at Saudi League, MLS

<p>Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that he does not see Saudi Arabia’s spending as a problem for the English Premier League.</p>, <p>The Dutchman said that English top-flight football remains the go-to place for top players.</p>, <p>This is despite the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of other top players switching to the mega-rich Middle East.</p>, <p>Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola recently said Saudi Arabia has changed the market.</p>, <p>But Erik ten Hag, who left Ajax to take up the Manchester United job last summer, does not see it as a problem for the English top flight.</p>, <p>“I think in Europe it has an effect because there is some money over there and it will attract players,” the Dutchman said.</p>, <p>“But I don’t see it at this moment as a problem for the Premier League because the Premier League is the league where the big players want to play.</p>, <p>“That is not in competition with a league like America or Saudi Arabia.”</p>
