Zambians vote in tight presidential race

Zambians cast their ballots in crowded polling stations right up until closing time for the country's general election. While voting day was largely peaceful, President Edgar Lungu said at least two people were killed, including the chairman of his party in North-Western province. According to NetBlocks, access to social media was also restricted throughout the day. The ballot is expected to be a tight stand-off between the incumbent and his main rival Hakainde Hichilema.
