[I've thought of another one]</p> <p><br></p> <p>We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at <a href="http://www.myrise.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.myrise.co.uk</a></p> <p><br></p> <p>Yesterday’s blog was the original one I intended to write about my dog.</p> <p>Monday’s was a bonus I thought of whilst writing that one.</p> <p>As is today’s.</p> <p>Yesterday I talked about walking and training my dog when she was hungry.</p> <p>As she responds better to treats then.</p> <p>Treats.</p> <p>The little bits of food we give dogs.</p> <p>But also often how we describe certain bits of our own food as a justification for eating them.</p> <p>Usually something more calorie dense.</p> <p>Often sugary.</p> <p>Maybe alcoholic.</p> <p>Something we’ve termed as “unhealthy”.</p> <p>But are justifying as a “treat”.</p> <p>Because we “deserve it”.</p> <p>After a “hard day”.</p> <p>Which I get.</p> <p>Life’s not always easy.</p> <p>The human mind’s job is to make us feel better.</p> <p>And the things we put in our mouth are often the quickest way to improve how we feel.</p> <p>At least temporarily.</p> <p>Unfortunately, they can then lead to the opposite.</p> <p>A bigger reduction in how we feel overall than that short term gain.</p> <p>It doesn’t mean we can never eat or drink those things.</p> <p>No food or drink is inherently fattening or bad for our health.</p> <p>It’s the overall balance of the week.</p> <p>But, could we challenge that way of seeing things?</p> <p>Is it a “treat” if we have some version of it every day?</p> <p>Is it a “treat” if it contributes to us feeling worse overall?</p> <p>Could it just be some food and drink that we have an amount of?</p> <p>That we enjoy, sure.</p> <p>But it’s just food and drink.</p> <p>Could we “treat” ourselves with something else we only get pleasure from?</p> <p>Watching our favourite programme?</p> <p>Buying something we want?</p> <p>Doing something else we enjoy?</p> <p>You might argue that we’d d
