<p>November 17, 1978 started out as an average Friday night for Kirk Thompson.</p><p>The teenager headed over to the Galaxy dance club in Speedway, Indiana for some fun and disco-dancing. The plan was to meet up his good friend Mark Flemmonds so they could walk back home together around midnight.
