The first mention of not inheriting the Kingdom of God is found in Paul’s first letter to the church at Corinth. This passage lists sins that, if indulged in continuously, identify a person as not being redeemed by Christ and faces, if not repented of, eternal separation from God! Paul asked the Corinthian church: “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). He’s not talking about people who sin, but of people who RELISH their sin and are PROUD of it and have GIVEN themselves over to it and REFUSE to REPENT and TURN away from it! The difference between one who follows the Lord and that of one who doesn't, is the struggle against sin and the ability to overcome it. A true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, will ALWAYS repent, will ALWAYS eventually return to God, and will ALWAYS fight the good fight of faith by crucifying their fleshly desires on a consistent, habitual, practicing basis. The Bible gives no support for the idea that a person who perpetually and unrepentantly engages in sin, can indeed be a child of God, so say 1 John 3:10, "By this the children of God and the children of the devil are clearly identified: anyone who does not practice righteousness [who does not seek God’s will in thought, action, and purpose] is not of God, nor is the one who does not [unselfishly] love his [believing] brother."
