Description

TODAY for Veteran’s Day and tomorrow colder air and gusty northwest winds will prevail behind a low-pressure spinning over the Great Lakes and high-pressure building out west. The northwest winds will gust 35-45 mph and will result in blowing dust and RED FLAG fire weather concerns with moderate to severe drought still gripping the region and plenty of dry grass and cover for fuel if ignited. Cooler highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s and lows in the 20’s will warm into the mid to upper 60’s Saturday when we will briefly see some warmer air work in from the west as a ridge rebuilds over the Rockies and west-northwest flow prevails over the Tri-state area. Saturday night and Sunday morning a dry cool front briefly drops temperatures into the 50’s for a day, ahead high-pressure moving over the area with warmer air from the west-southwest on Monday.
