Description

Today winds will turn to the northwest and become gusty 30-50 mph in the early afternoon as and upper-level trough moves over the Rockies. Highs will top out in the 50’s with colder air arriving this evening and overnight with a cold front sweeping through dropping lows into the teens. Tomorrow with cold air in place clouds will be on the increase and upsloping breezy east winds develop ahead of a low-pressure system and shot of Arctic air arriving Wednesday evening and overnight. With easterly upsloping flow snow will develop late tomorrow afternoon and evening with 1” to 3” of snow potential by Thursday morning. Thursday will be bitterly cold with Arctic air in place, but the good news is the cold spell will be short-lived as high-pressure and ridging returns Friday and Saturday with rebounding temps.
