The Sign Advent Series–Br Lewis Harwood FSC–Land of Hope (Br Lewis says the scripture passages for Tuesday of the 2nd week of Advent contain a simple message: to move out of the wilderness and return to the land of hope. The passage from Isaiah 40:1-11 is where Isaiah, the prophet and poet, speaks with vivid imagery, appreciating the consoling love of God to watch over and care for us in times of distress and misadventure. The Gospel message from Matthew 8:12-14 is that it is comforting to believe in a God that leaves everything to search for us; a God that leaves everything to encounter us. We may be the ones in the fold, or the one gone off track, but God is still seeking us however bruised and broken we are.)
