Wisdom from the Abbey–Mother Hilda–The Ant (Mother Hilda’s experience of a black ant in the sugar bowl trying to hide and not be discovered reminds her that we are sometimes like that with God. Sometimes you and I do something we're ashamed of, and we hope he doesn't see us, and we forget that his eye of compassion seeks us out and wants nothing more than to pick us up and lift us out of our misery. We forget that he comes to the clear plastic container of our life, lifts the lid and hopes that today we just might crawl across to him)
