<p>Virus poem</p><p><br>Virus</p><p>By Maryann Migliorelli</p><p>I am not Corona Virus</p><p>I am a virus just the same,</p><p>Please let me introduce myself</p><p>I am happy to explain.</p><p>I am the laughter of little children</p><p>And the sound of happy feet,</p><p>Listen closely while they play </p><p>For their voices strong and sweet.</p><p>I am the tickle of good Champaign</p><p>As it bubbles near your nose,</p><p>And the coziness of cocoa</p><p>As it warms you to your toes.</p><p>The summer scent of hot dogs</p><p>And burgers on the grill,</p><p>The cocoanut tanning lotion </p><p>On the beaches where you chill.</p><p>The multi-layered taste</p><p>Of a chocolate covered berry,</p><p>The cool and creamy richness</p><p>Of ice cream from your favorite dairy.</p><p>Vibrant colors of a rainbow</p><p>And the brilliance of the stars,</p><p>Sun glow and moon glow</p><p>Creating beauty where you are.</p><p>The strong and loving arms</p><p>Closing you in an embrace</p><p>The touch of a newborn baby’s skin</p><p>And God’s amazing grace.</p><p>I am a loving joyful virus</p><p>Corona’s not my name,</p><p>Take the time to know me well</p><p>Then spread me in every way.</p><p>Because spreading love and joy</p><p>Gives you the ultimate power,</p><p>To make the world a better place</p><p>For all in this timely hour.</p>
