Massachusetts has an extensive paid family medical leave (PFML) law. In this state, there are two types of PFML leave - both of which are paid. The two types of leave include family or medical leave. This comprehensive leave policy is one of the first of its kind in the nation. Recently, Massachusetts updated its PFML laws to provide up to 26 weeks of combined family and/or medical leave.
