Following the death of frontman<strong>&nbsp;Ronnie James Dio</strong>&nbsp;in 2010, the original <strong>Dio</strong> lineup of Vinny on drums, bassist&nbsp;<strong>Jimmy Bain</strong> guitarist&nbsp;<strong>Vivian Campbell</strong>, and keyboardist&nbsp;<strong>Claude Schnell</strong>&nbsp;reunited along with vocalist<strong>&nbsp;Andrew Freeman</strong>&nbsp;to perform the Dio songs they originally recorded. The band released a studio album of original material without Schnell titled&nbsp;<em>Heavy Crown</em>&nbsp;in February 2016.</p><br><p>We had a fantastic conversation and discussed how to correctly pronounce his surname and why his brother <strong>Carmine Appice</strong> pronounces it differently, his back story of how he originally joined <strong>Black Sabbath</strong>, why the band thought his drum kit was too small and how we was asked to fill the drum throne multiple times afterwards. We also talked about his life on the road including some pranks conjured up by my dad <strong>Phil Campbell </strong>involving a horse during a tour with <strong>Heaven And Hell</strong>.
