Unknown gunmen on motorcycle kill policeman, injure others in Delta

<p>Unknown gunmen Thursday shot a policeman to death in Delta State.</p>, <p>The incident occurred at the Isiokolo (Otoro-Agbon) Divisional Police headquarters, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.</p>, <p>The cop was shot dead when the gunmen numbering two arrived at the entrance of the station and shot sporadically at policemen mounting security at the time of the incident.</p>, <p>Two cops sustained injuries during the attack and they were rushed to the hospital where the victim was declared dead by doctors.</p>, <p>The second victim, who was also critically injured, was said to be responding to treatment as at the time of filing this report.</p>, <p>The attack was said to have forced a crack team of policemen to launch a raid on Isiokolo, Kokori and other surrounding towns in the area.</p>, <p>It was learnt that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack during the raid.</p>, <p>The arrest, we learnt, created fears among residents and uniform personnel.</p>, <p>Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death of one of the victims, adding that the gunmen came with an okada.</p>, <p>While saying that it was not a raid on the station, he said the other victim was receiving treatment at an undisclosed location while assuring a manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators of the attack.</p>
