Description

Two private water schemes in Clare failed to meet minimum drinking water standards last year. The findings are contained in the Environmental Protection Agency's private water supply report for 2022. The audit found that the Tubber Moreagh scheme had been contaminated with E-Coli, which can cause gastrointestinal ilness, while the chlorine by-product TMH was found in drinking water in the Ranaghan supply near Ruan. EPA Senior Inspector Patrick Chan has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that immediate action is required to rectify issues in this county.
