Tupac’s $1m ring breaks New York auction record

<p>The crown gold ring worn by the late American rapper and actor, Tupac Amaru Shakur, was sold for $1 million in a New York auction on Tuesday.</p>, <p>The ring was worn by the late singer during his last public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 1996.</p>, <p>Tupac’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, while providing the ring to the auction house, stated that the ring, which bears the Pac & Dada 1996 inscription on its side, was designed for him in New York City after his release from jail and his signing with Death Row Records.</p>, <p>The auction house said the ring, which is made of gold, rubies, and diamond crowns, became the most valuable hip-hop artefact ever sold, the New York Post reports.</p>, <p>Tupac was shot dead at age 25 on September 13, 1996, by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.</p>
