Toxic Spirituality (no, you don’t need to do *all* the things!)

Let's shine a light on the darker sides of modern day spirituality! I think because so many elements of spirituality have been popularised and westernised, some of the magic of the actual practice has been lost. Even something like personal beliefs in a deeper meaning of life has been put into a box of productivity, linearity and capitalistic ideals.  <p>Spirituality isn't always love and light. Spirituality isn't some insane hierarchy of gurus. Spirituality isn't putting the astrological energetics and lunar vibes above your own lived experience of that moment. </p> <p>Spirituality is meeting those parts of your inner wisdom, doing what you like when it feels good, having fun and feeling the deep stuff - usually all at the same time. It's about time we release the pressure of having an Instaworthy moon ritual or a pretzel-like-yoga body, and that we take people in this community off of the pedestals we sometimes put them on. <br /> Your spiritual journey is about you, and all parts of you.
