Mercury Records released the Topics “Booking Up Baby in 1973, and it is said that it did nothing. Wow! It sounds like a great song to me. There are a lot of great songs out there that didn’t make it, and you just don’t hear them on the radio. <br /><br />The group the Topics are remembered by East Coast fans for “All Good Things Must End”. It is a ballad recorded on Heavy Duty Records in 1972 that became huge in the New York/Jersey area.<br /><br />What do you think the song Bookin’ up means? I think it’s about a guy that’s with a girl and booked up to meet other girls. A guy that’s going to move on and get away from the girl that he’s with. <br /><br />I just don’t see why the song bookin’ up baby didn’t make it. Girls & guys are always breaking up. I think it should have been a hit. But that’s just my opinion. Maybe the song didn’t get enough plays in those days.
