The Power of Thanksgiving _Pt 1

<p>Tuesday 1st December 2020&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p>Hello and a lovely Tuesday to you in the name of Jesus.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Today is Tuesday, the 1st of December 2020. God has been good to us, we are grateful to Him for everything. I heard someone quote a Chinese billionaire businessman who said “If you live to see the end of the year 2020, you should declare profit”. In the name of Jesus, you will see the end of this year and many more in Jesus name.</p> <p><br></p> <p>This month, we will be talking about Thanksgiving.</p> <p><br></p> <p>God has been good, even in the midst of all these challenges, we are alive and well. Things have happened; floods have come, winds and the rain has come, it has beaten us, but we are still standing! Some of us fell down but we got back up again and we are grateful to God for everything. I trust God that His eyes that has watched over us and preserved us this far, will see us till the end of the year in the name of Jesus.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>The Bible says in the book of Ephesians 5: 20 (NLT)&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>20&nbsp;And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.</p> <p><br></p> <p>Good things? Bad things? No matter what, give thanks to God.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>The Yoruba language is a very interesting language. The word “thank you” in Yoruba is Ọsẹ &nbsp;“pronounced Oshey” . But the word also means “you have done it” or “you did it”. So, in Yoruba language; when you say “thank you”, you are also saying “you did it”.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Now, that is very insightful to me; that when we say “thank you” to God, when we appreciate Him, for things He has done, we are also committing to do more things for us.</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p>You want God to do glorious things in your life this year, you want God to do more things in your life before the end of the year and all the time, develop an attitude of thanksgiving.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Some of us say, “oh I like to give thanks to God but I d
