<p>Episode 93 of the Fit Mother Project Podcast is all about the power of support and how the right people around us can get us through anything.</p><p>In this episode, you’ll meet Harry Lorusso, a man with a unique and incredible story to tell.</p><p><br></p><p>In March 2019, at the age of 33, Harry was diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant forms of cancer. </p><p><br></p><p>He underwent a year of treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and was enrolled in a trial that injected a virus in his tumor and included radiation, oral chemotherapy, and IV immunotherapy. </p><p><br></p><p>The average life expectancy of a glioblastoma diagnosis is around 14-16 months. Four years have passed since Harry’s treatment, and he’s had no evidence of the disease since! </p><p><br></p><p>Harry deeply believes the most essential part of beating this disease was the power of support he got from his family, friends, and medical team. </p><p><br></p><p>Once Harry’s treatment was finished, he decided to shift his focus onto others battling this disease and founded <a href="https://www.theoutlierfund.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">the Outlier Fund</a> with his wife, Dana. The Outlier Fund is a 501(c)3 dedicated to bringing hope to those impacted by glioblastoma by creating community, raising awareness and funds for impactful research. </p><p><br></p><p>These days, Harry loves spending time with Dana and their two-year-old son Wylie, and “doing hard things.” In May of 2022, he completed his first 26.2-mile marathon and, in April of 2023, finished 9th overall in his first 33-mile off-road ultramarathon through the Blue Ridge Mountains.</p><p><br></p><p>This is an incredible conversation with a man we can all learn a lot from!</p><p><br></p><p>In this episode, you’ll learn about: </p><p><br></p><ul><li>Harry’s life and health story.</li><li>His glioblastoma diagnosis and how he dealt with it.</li><li>The importance of having a solid support
