The king’s final verdict

William Taylor - Jesus has the ability to pierce the veneer of human systems of righteousness. For all their virtue washing and spirituality signalling, the religious of Jesus' day remained internally full of greed and rebellion. What is more, trust in their own attempts at self-improvement left them rejecting Jesus and encouraging others to do the same. Jesus' judgement of Jerusalem in the first century directs us to Jesus' ultimate judgement of all at the end.
