The Future Of EU Probiotics Regulation, With David Pineda Ereño

Since 2006, no health claims for probiotics have been allowed by harmonised European Union regulations. Even the term probiotics is considered an unauthorised health claim by the European Commission. However, as David explains, many EU member states, including Italy and Spain, are starting to go their own way, adopting a more liberal approach to this booming wellness market.
