<p>Sunday18th April</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p>The Fear of Starting Again 7</p> <p><br></p> <p><br></p> <p>From our discussion yesterday, we learnt how Jacob went into panic as he was told that his brother Esau was riding out to meet him with 400 horsemen. Based on Esau’s threat earlier that he was going to kill Jacob for taking his birthright, all he could see was the massacre of his household. He had forgotten that God was the One that told him to go back home and had promised to keep him and his family. In his confused and helpless state, he cried out to God,&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Genesis 32:11-12 (NLT) &nbsp;11 O lord, please rescue me from the hand of my brother, &nbsp;Esau. I am afraid that he is coming to attack me, along with my wives and children. &nbsp;12But you promised me, ‘I will surely treat you kindly, and I will multiply your descendants until they become as numerous as the sands along the seashore—too many to count." &nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Yes, there was a promise from God, but the fact of the moment was that Esau was coming with his men and as far as Jacob was concerned that could spell nothing but disaster. The fear of starting again in his home country seemed deem but Jacob took his fears to God in prayer and God delivered him.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>One thing that stands out clearly from the story of Jacob even that of Moses and Joshua is how fear disappeared once God is brought into the situation. The bible says;" perfect love casts out fear". Perfect love is God and when you stay around Him long enough, He dispels every trace of fear in you so that you can do what God has called you to do. It doesn't matter what you've attempted and failed at in the past, confront your fears and progress with God.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p>Revelation.21:8 says the fearful are among those that will experience the second death in the lake of fire.
