Nearly three months after the invasion of Ukraine, Russia is finally sealing its first major trophy. Ukrainian fighters are surrendering from Mariupol's last pocket of resistance. Long after the Azov seaport was overtaken, they had kept control of the Azovstal steel mill compound, pinning down an estimated twelve Russian battalions. Now that the fighting is over, Moscow's focus turns squarely to the eastern Donbas region.
