The Enchanted Wood. Chapter 4 - The Folk in the Faraway Tree

The children start to climb and soon start to come across weird things in the tree. It grew acorns and horse chestnuts and uther cherries! But not only that there were windows and doors in the trunk of the tree. Some of the folk weren't quite as friendly as others...as Beth found out! They did make one friend though. They finally reach the top....but that's a story for another day.
