Description

Apply for the next cohort of PM School's Live Program - https://bit.ly/3wXc1Kd

In this episode, the host Arjav Jain speaks with Anushka Pathak, Associate PM at Flipkart about the APM role. Anushka tells us that the APM role is very similar to the PM role and has 5 critical aspects to it: problem-solving, product thinking, execution, go to market and long term strategic muscle building. APMs are involved in small iterative changes while also owning some big-ticket items under the guidance/mentorship of someone like a Group PM. She goes onto narrate a story on how her undergrad at BITS helped her become a PM, how she solved small problems around her and participated in competitions with a diverse set of people to become a better problem-solver. She also mentions who an APM is not. Anushka then goes onto some tips for undergrad students who are breaking into the role and asks you all to take care of a few things - have a mentor, ensure you have ownership of the item as an APM and be excited about the mission of the organization you're joining! Arjav discusses OKRs in the product bytes section. This episode promises to be a banger with tonnes of learning for current undergrad students.

Apply for the next cohort of PM School's Live Program - https://bit.ly/3wXc1Kd

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/howtoproduct/message
