Tecola Skatzes explains what being biracial in a black-and-white world was like during the 80's.

Racial issues have been in the spotlight for many years, and rightfully so! There are still imbalances of power in the world when it pertains to race.  Nonetheless many logical people can see that all men and women were created equal and we would benefit from loving our differences. Tecola shares stories of how she was the first black (biracial) child in an all white family (Move over Megan Markle) and it was far from easy. Not surprisingly, her family threatened to kill her just because she was different.  Tecola also speaks about how her father cutting all her hair off because he didn't know how to manage it.  She speaks on getting married at age 18, having twins and all the fun that comes along with that and how she moved on after at 25 year marriage to a light skin blue eyed black man.
