We discuss why it’s a problem and what efforts are underway to deal with it, with Brian Lapointe, a research professor at Florida Atlantic University's Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute; and Ajit Subramaniam, a biological oceanographer at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
