Description

A high-pressure ridge holds its grip over the Great Basin one more day with highs reaching into the mid 90’s and influx of humidity and breezy southeast winds. Tomorrow the ridge retrogrades and weakens putting zonal flow and a shortwave piece of energy will move through with a cool front and evening scattered shower and isolated thunderstorm chances. As flow remains zonal disturbances will move over the Palmer divide and into eastern Plains Colorado during the afternoons, that reach the KS/CO borders in evenings with scattered showers and isolated storms Thursday and Friday. Daytime temperatures will be normal for mid-July highs in the upper 80’s and low 90’s and lows 60-65-degrees. Over the weekend, the ridge begins to rebuild and amplify out west with the area under northwest flow and chance for evening showers and storms in the forecast.
