StoryCast '21: EP 11/21 The Last Gun: Disarming the IRA

In September 2005, the responsibility of securing a lasting peace in Northern Ireland fell on the shoulders of two unlikely men - a Protestant minister and a Catholic priest.<br />Unbeknown to high-ranking security officials in both the British and Irish Governments, the Rev Harold Good and Father Alec Reid were to undertake a secret mission to bring about the disarmament of the IRA.<br />To this day, what happened before and during that covert mission, remains shrouded in mystery.
