In tonight’s episode, we discuss the racist comments made by Michael Bloomberg last week about the Shinnecock Nation. During a campaign rally last week, Bloomberg described the nation as a “disaster” and as a group full of “domestic violence, drugs and alcoholism.” Shane Weeks, a member of the Shinnecock nation located in Southhampton, NY and co-chairman of the Graves Protection Warrior society joins the discussion.Additionally, we look at a recent event in the #MeToo movement: the highly publicized and anticipated trial of Harvey Weinstein, who was recently convicted of two felony sex crimes. Despite the testimony of six survivors stating that he sexually assaulted them, Weinstein was found not guilty on the most serious charge of “predatory sexual assault,” and he was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
