Description
The Shannon Chamber of Commerce claims the government is failing to action on renewable energy projects in the county. In June, the Independent Shannon Estuary Taskforce found that by 2035, the catchment area has the potential to produce enough green electricity to achieve net zero status and create 10,000 new jobs. However Shannon Chamber believes enabling initiatives such as zoning Atlantic waters for development and including a 400 MW(Mega-Watt) floating wind demonstrator in the schedule of works must happen urgently to realise this. President Eoin Gavan says both our environmental and economic future is at stake.
