Shankill Road Cultural Event

<p>It's always good to do something a little different, so when I was approached about doing a "live" podcast at a cultural event on the Shankill Road, I thought why not, let's go for it.</p><p>The team at Greater Shankill Alternatives organised what they called a "Cultural Busking" event on the day of the Whiterock parade as part of the Safer Areas For Everyone (SAFE) programme.</p><p>We hosted lambeg drummers, a piper, an accordion player and a singer/songwriter as part of the event and took some time to connect with their stories and to listen to them play and share their talent with the Shankill Road Community.</p><p>The event was well received and it was great to be out and about with musicians sharing their talent and promoting their culture.</p><p>We hope that you enjoy the episode and we will be back again on 20th July with the Cowan Memorial Flute Band.</p><p>Made to Parade is sponsored by the British Drum Co.
