Second Sunday of Advent, December 10, 2023, 10:45 A.M. Sunday Worship Service

<p>Hi there, and God&#39;s blessings to you and those you love! Welcome to Stony Creek UMC worship service. We are thankful for you, want you to feel comfortable in whatever ways you choose to participate with us (if you choose to), and please know there is no pressure or expectations from us. In this faith community we believe that ALL people are worthy of being, mercy, love, and grace. You are made in the image of God and that means you are beautiful just the way you are. You are also a beloved child of God and cherished sibling of Jesus Christ, which means that you are loved unconditionally, and there is nothing you can ever do to separate yourself from God&#39;s perfect love and saving grace.</p> <p><br></p> <p>This is the second Sunday of Advent and we are continuing in our Advent/Christmas sermon series, &quot;Where We Belong.&quot; Last week, Pastor Michael preached about the end of the world as we know it (special shout out to R.E.M.), and how we should not spend our time worrying about end times and instead work to be consistent and constant in our faith and our love (for God and neighbor). Pastor Michael is always striving to connect Scripture with our daily lives, and encourages everyone to ask questions and try to be willing to re-examine our theology and understandings of God and the world. Also today during our worship time together we will be singing some songs, sharing in some liturgy (don&#39;t worry, it&#39;s all in the bulletin - see link below), lifting some prayers, and hearing some Scripture readings.</p> <p><br></p> <p>If you ever have any questions, or just want to chat, please jump into the chat alongside the video feed on Facebook.
