S5 E22 - Valentines Day Songs 2023 - 100 Pounds of Clay: A Dedication to My Wife

<p>Valentines Day Songs 2023 mean so much each year and this year, for me, it's 100 Pounds of Clay. It's that time of year again, Saint Valentines Day-.Valentine's brings the spring season to us almost and includes my work cleaning out several of my red clay flower pots. While I was cleaning them, it reminded me of the Story of the "Potter and the Clay." And then, I went inside to chill, and lo and behold, my wife and I stayed glued to the movie Ghost. The picture of a potter in my mind is someone sitting down on a stool with a wet glob of clay spinning on a wheel. So I researched pottery-making in Biblical times to see how different it may have been. Then, I wondered if what I learned from it would give us new insights about God, our Potter. &nbsp;Clay was common in the East way back when and many excavations have unearthed locations where pottery-making took place. The clay was excavated and brought to the Potter. It was then prepared by first removing the stones, sticks, and whatnot. Water was then added to soften it up for kneading. Next, they used pottery wheels and placed the lump of clay on the platform. As it turned, the Potter guided the glob of clay into the form of a vessel. They used pottery kilns to bake the vessels dry. When the clay is located on the center of the platform, the revolving force and the hands of the Potter create a perfectly shaped vessel. &nbsp;However, if the ball of clay is off-center, it will eventually form unevenly. Then it will collapse. Like the clay, we, also, need to be centered on Jesus. &nbsp;He can shape us effortlessly when we give him complete control and stay absolutely centered on him. Interestingly, one technique used when first centering the clay is to pull it towards you, like Demi Moore did in "Ghost!" &nbsp;Have you ever felt God’s hands drawing you towards Him? This is because he wants us to be close to Himself, entirely centered and shaped by Him.
