
Russian firms, partners to visit Africa

<p>Leading business organisations in Russia and members of the Eurasian Economic Union are set to visit some African countries on a business mission.</p>, <p>This was disclosed in a statement made available to The PUNCH.</p>, <p>Some of the entities expected to participate in the mission include the Russian Export Centre, Roscongress Foundation, State Development Corporation VEB.RF, RosGeo, and Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.</p>, <p>Others include the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, All-Russian Non-Governmental Organisation of Small and Medium Business ‘Opora Russia’, and Eurasian Economic Commission.</p>, <p>The Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organising Committee for Russia–Africa Events, Anton Kobyakov, said, “The initiative under consideration follows on directly from the agreements reached following the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum in St. Petersburg.</p>, <p>“The official delegations from African countries and business figures expressed their keen interest in continuing to promote their relationship and in the deepening and intensification of Russia–African cooperation, within which priority areas for economic cooperation have been identified, in which concrete results can be achieved in the next few years.</p>, <p>“We are talking about energy, including renewable energy sources, the development of infrastructure, especially railway and housing construction, mining and mineral processing, agriculture, digital technologies, geological exploration, medicine, science, and education,”</p>, <p>According to the statement, the delegations would also comprise representatives of Russian businesses and other EAEU member states working in the transport, agribusiness, exploration, mining and processing of minerals, energy, and digital service sectors.</p>
