Description

Rural Clare people are being advised to set up community alert groups to help safeguard the vulnerable in their locality. October marks national Community Alert Month and more than 1,000 alert groups nationwide are being encouraged to reconnect with their communities and their local Gardaí. The crime prevention and community safety programme, run in partnership with An Garda Síochána, helps to ensure the safety of vulnerable people and families in rural communities. Muintir na Tire's Community Alert Development Officer for the Western Region, Gerard Costello, outlines the important aspects of the programme.
