Description

Roche Ireland claims that the quality of remediation works carried out at its Clarecastle facility will make the brownfield site a prime target for future foreign direct investment. The Swiss firm has officially entered the final stage of its decomissioning process in the Mid-Clare village which has cost over €57m since 2020. To mark the occassion, Senior Management presented a letter to Clare County Council offering the right of first refusal upon completion of the remediation. The 88 acre site has been identified as a key area under the Ennis 2040 Economic and Spacial Strategy and is expected to play a key role in the county's economic development in the coming years. Project Owner and Site Lead at the Roche facility Joe Murphy is confident the development will significantly enhance the local community.
