Description

In this episode, Claire from NSFT research speaks to three members of the research team - Sarah, Laura and Danielle, about the process of getting on to three-year, full-time Doctorates in Clinical Psychology and what working in research has taught them. Laura tells us about her TedX talk that she did on comparison which will lead you to see bananas and oranges in a whole new light. Danielle explains how it has taken her four years to get a place on the doctorate and how that has actually been time well spent that will help with her training. She explains that she has learnt the most from the people taking part in research - those "that are laying their experiences out for you to see...for you to improve things for people in the future". Sarah has found a framework for research where those most impacted by the research should be the ones taking the lead in all parts of the research process. Laura has designs on the perfect job for the future that involves research and clinical practice.

Link to Laura's Ted talk: Laura Miles: Oranges versus bananas: The unforgiving mirror of comparison | TED Talk

Sign up to take part in research here: Find out how to get involved in research and all the studies NSFT has on offer. | Norfolk and Suffolk NHS

Music

Titles: Light Thought var 1 Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License

Title: Soft Glitch Logo License: Business License, Commercial, ASCAP

Publisher: OV Soundtracks Composer: Oscar A.
