We take a look at Isaiah 1:11-17 (NLT) as a backdrop to this warning. God said that He was sick of their burnt offerings, He took no pleasure in the blood of their sacrificed animals. He asked in verse 12, "When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all of your ceremony? He told them to stop bringing Him their meaningless gifts. He said that their incense offerings disgusted Him and that how all of their celebrations were sinful and false! He said, He didn't want any more of their pious meetings! 😬 So this tells us that God is NOT with the idolatry, the hypocrisy, the disrespect and rebellion of wicked people! We also look at Hebrews 10:26, that warns us that if we DELIBERATELY keep on sinning, that our only expectation is of raging fire! GOD WARNED ISRAEL OF THEIR WICKEDNESS AND HE WARNS US OF OUR WILLFUL AND DELIBERATE SINFULNESS! We must repent of our sins believe and obey the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ so that our names will be found written in the Lamb's Book of Life!
