Description

Women organizers respond with their thoughts and reactions to the ending of the Sanders campaign and discuss further where they think the movement should go now. Is the direction local electoral campaigns or is it in the streets? Listen and decide for yourself. Joining the show is Moumita Ahmad, Co-founder of the Millenials for Bernie Sanders page, and founder of the Bangladeshi Americans for Political Progress. Joining her will be professor Jodi Dean, author of the book Comrade and member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation in Geneva New York. Is the United States government doing enough to combat domestic violence? We discuss the roots of domestic violence and its current impact of Coronavirus on domestic violence shelters. Joining the show is Kaleigh, an activist and organizer who is employed at a Utah based domestic violence service agency. On a hopeful note, the show closes out with a case study on what is possible when a local government is organized to meet people’s needs. While the US government’s response to the COVID-19 public health crisis has largely been inefficient and ineffective, the same can’t be said of the southern state of Kerala in India. Kerala is a small state-government in India led by the Communist Party of India Marxist and a coalition of left parties. Joining the show is Sathya Vatti, a writer for Liberationnews.org, and an organizer with the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
