Ranil Wickremesinghe elected as new Sri Lankan president

Ranil Wickremesinghe has won the vote in parliament to be the next president of Sri Lanka. He was the acting president after former leader Gotabaya Rajapaksa resigned last week amid the country's worst economic crisis in seven decades.
