Racism & COVID: Hate Crimes and Food Deserts

Today we’ll be talking about the racial impact of COVID-19 on black and brown communities and connecting that to the wave of hate crimes against Asian American communities across the country. Then we will delve deeper into the recent announcement made by California governor Gavin Newsom to give $500 dollars to undocumented workers, we will be discussing - are these measure really enough? We will close out with a report on a mutual aid effort happening in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia where families and activists have come together to provide food for the community because the Philadelphia government currently is not doing enough.
