The intelligence community speaks of indicators and warnings; small signals that can indicate larger problems. In terms of political indicators and warnings, the treatment of minorities is useful. When you see a negative change in the treatment of minorities, it is a sign that problems exist in the political system. The violence now towards Jews in countries such as France, the UK and Germany is an indicator of potential violence against other groups. This has already spread to Canada and the USA. Yet many Jews still tend to cooperate with those who are openly planning to destroy them. As a reminder, when the canary in the coal mine is doing his job properly, he winds up dead.
