<p>In this contemporary population of statin-treated patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertriglyceridemia, 1 in 10 developed a cardiovascular event by 3 years, and despite 20-30% reductions of triglycerides and what we call remnant cholesterol with a fibrate-like therapy, there was no clinical benefit.</p> <p>In this interview, Aruna Das Pradhan MD, MPH and Allen J.
