Praise God For For What He Is Doing, and For What He is Going To Do (Psalm 145)

<p>Praise God For Who He Is, For What He Has Done, For What He Is Doing, and For What He is Going To Do</p><p>Psalm 145</p><p> </p><p>Known as Psalm 145, David wrote the first of the last final five songs recorded in the book of Psalms, affirming God’s attributes that were revealed through His mighty, glorious, and wonderful works as they have witnessed historically and experienced as a nation – Israel. </p><p> </p><p>David exhorts that God’s character and acts were the reasons why He is worshipped and praised. He also declares that God is eternally praised for what He is doing and for what He is yet to do.</p><p> </p><p>1. David committed to daily and eternally praise God for who He is (1-2). God is great (3); gracious, slow to anger, great in lovingkindness (8); good to all (9); merciful (8-9). </p><p> </p><p>2. David, in a prophetic tone, wrote that one generation shall praise God for what He has done and declare His mighty acts (4). Men shall speak and tell of God’s awesome acts, His greatness, abundant goodness, and righteousness (6-7); Moreover, God’s people shall give thanks, praise Him (10) and speak of His power (11) and the glory of His eternal kingdom and dominion (11-13).</p><p> </p><p>3. God is forever praised for what He is doing and for what He is going to do.</p><p>God sustains all who fall and raises all who are bowed down (14), gives food in due time (15) satisfy the desire of every living thing (16) righteous and kind in His ways and deeds (17), near to those who call Him (18) to those who fear Him, God will fulfill their desire, hear their cry, and save them (19); He keeps all who love Him but will destroy the wicked.</p><p> </p><p>Application:</p><p>Let us live out a lifestyle that praises God out of fear, faith, and love. Let us praise Him for who He is. Let us praise Him for hat He has done. Let us praise Him for what He is doing. Let us praise Him for what He will do.</p>
