'Pope of Trash' John Waters on perversions, pop culture and pathological liars

Celebrated as a cult filmmaker for his masterful handling of bad taste and seediness in films like "Pink Flamingos", "Female Trouble" and "Hairspray", John Waters has now published his first novel, "Liarmouth". Featuring a rich tapestry of iconoclastic characters, including trampolining enthusiasts, talking body parts and a trans pet, the book has just been translated into French as "Sale Menteuse". Waters joins us in the studio to discuss conservative attacks on drag queens, his iconic friend and collaborator Divine, cancel culture and whether being a book lover is still a good way to gauge a person's character.
