
Police arraign man, 34, for allegedly stealing employer’s N1.3m

<p>The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday arraigned one Zacchaus Joseph, 34, in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing his employer’s N1,375,500.</p>, <p>Joseph, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with theft.</p>, <p>The prosecutor, Insp. Olusegun Adegboye, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence between August 4, 2021, and April 17, 2023.</p>, <p>Adegboye alleged that the defendant stole the money during his service as Asset Loan Manager with Grooming Center Microfinance Bank Oluyole and Odo-Ona, Ibadan.</p>, <p>He added that the defendant stole the money without the consent of his employer and committed an offence contrary to the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.</p>, <p>The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.</p>, <p>The Magistrate, Mrs S. I. Babalola, granted the defendant bail for N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.</p>, <p>She adjourned the case until Dec. 19 for hearing. (NAN)</p>
